Tarot Influences Coming Into Play
Tarot can help you to look at what is going on in your life from an objective perspective. A reading will not predict the future for you, you do have free will, after all, allowing you to choose which direction you move in. But, it does allow you to review the current themes playing out in your life, enabling a consideration of challenges and opportunities and how to navigate them. As such, an Amethyst Tiger Tarot reading is both helpful and empowering.
All readings are undertaken in a completely confidential, caring and non-judgmental environment. Whilst an individual should never relinquish their personal responsibility and decision-making powers to the Tarot, it can be used to make better sense of what is going on around us. Tarot helps to illuminate what may be hidden and bring it into our consciousness. Our aim is to empower, enabling you to be better equipped and more informed.
To get the most out of a Tarot reading, be prepared for an interactive session. This makes for a rich and rewarding reading. At Amethyst Tiger, the Tarot is read using recognised and established meanings for the cards, together with the reader’s intuition, expertise and insight. We also always take into account any interpretations of symbols unique to you.
-
Come with an open mind and be prepared to have an interesting, enjoyable session. You might want to think about what you want the Tarot to help you with and what topics you want to cover, or you may just want a general reading.
-
Readings tend to be richer and more meaningful when you interact and join in. If something feels true, say so and if it feels off. then that’s useful information to the reader as well. Generally the Tarot reader goes by both their own intuition and recognised symbolic archetypes, (such as the High Priestess or the Moon). But a particular symbol within a card might have a unique significance to you, for example an oak tree might remind you of your grandparent’s garden or a cat a long lost pet. Sharing such information allows the Tarot reader to go deeper in their interpretation of the cards and give you a better reading.

Tarot can help us look at possible outcomes but doesn’t speficially say ‘This is what will happen’. The future is not yet set and we all have ‘free will’ to select our desired paths.
The Tarot is a helpful tool to explore different outcomes at a given point in time. (A reading some time later pursing the same question might yield different results as the passage of time will have shifted things). Readings can be really useful to help us examine what is going on in our lives, bringing to light things that we might know on a deep level, but perhaps not want to recognise consciously. It might give us pointers, but then it is up to each individual to assess what feels the best route for them and then make decisions based on their own wisdom and common sense.
It is for this reason that we will never give Readings on health or financial issues. -
Usually the cards paint a clear picture. However, sometimes the meaning of a particular card or card layout may be opaque and not appear to make sense within the context of the reading. Often times, something will happen later on and the meaning will become apparent. It’s a bit like the Universe reveals the information in a timely manner!

Actually, in Tarot, there is no such thing as a horrible card…..All cards have an innate wisdom and something to teach us; each card also needs to be viewed in context of an overall reading. It is important to remember Tarot is a way to receive relevant information and communication from ‘our higher selves’ or ‘Spirit’, which then helps to inform and guide us.
Some people are wary of certain Tarot cards, often based on misconceptions gleaned through the media. For example, the Major Arcana ‘Death’ card doesn’t infer that anybody is going to drop down dead, rather that a time of transition is commencing in the sense that one book closes and another opens. Similarly, the ‘Devil’ card should not imply that evil abounds, rather this Major Arcana card tends to show up if people exhibit a behaviour or thought pattern which no longer serves them. For example, they might think something like ‘I’m not good enough’ or ‘I don’t deserve love’, have addictive traits, or be caught in a dysfunctional friendship or relationship. The card in itself isn’t nasty, it just helps to bring home to us something, which we possibly know, but now need to work on.
So if you receive a card that you feel is less than desirable, consider what it is that it is trying to teach you. Where is the teaching or healing or way out within this card? If you adopt this approach, you will see that Tarot cards are here to point us in the right direction. -
People can sometimes be concerned that the Tarot might predict something unpleasant that they really don’t want to know about. As outlined earlier, the Tarot is really a way for us to review what is going on in our lives at present. We have so-called ‘free will’ and our future is not set. The cards tend to tell us what information we need to know now to help us move forwards, so you need not worry that you are going to come away with unpleasant information.
We believe that all readings should be helpful and should give you something to work with. We definitely don’t subscribe to scare mongering! -
In some instances, we may give you specific exercises to take home, which are intended to help you. The Tarot sometimes reveals areas which you need to concentrate on and such exercises can help you move forwards. For example, you may be given an affirmation to repeat, an energy clearing exercise, or taught how to protect your energy.
-
Of course, that is up to you and there may be some stages in life where you may appreciate more regular insight than others. Ideally, we would like you to go home and process the information provided by the cards. To have another reading too soon, may mean that you have not given yourself sufficient time. So, in difficult times, maybe a monthly reading might be appropriate.
Personally, I like to have a reading when the seasons change or it’s a birthday or other upcoming life event. I also like readings when I need an answer or if I want to identify the best way to handle a specific problem or opportunity. And always, a Tarot reading is interesting, ‘just because’!

Tarot FAQ
Tarot Ethics
You must be aged eighteen or over to have a Tarot reading with Amethyst Tiger.
Your reading will always be undertaken in confidence.
Readings will be undertaken in an open, honest and non-judgemental manner.
All clients will be treated with respect.
We only ever read directly for a client and never a third party – i.e. we are happy to read for you, but not for another person. Any questions relating to third parties such as partners, families, friends and colleagues will be rephrased or declined as appropriate.
We reserve the right to terminate a Tarot reading, should we feel unable to continue for any reason. Should this happen, we will always withdraw with tact and diplomacy.
Similarly, we respect the right of a Querant (you) to terminate a reading at any stage too.
A very rare occurrence, but we reserve the right to refuse to read for a specific person.
We appreciate that our reading is not the only interpretation possible. Each reader is unique and others might ‘see’ different things in the cards.
We always will read as honestly as possible and aim to be open-minded and non-judgmental.
Every attempt will be made to interpret the cards in a meaningful way for you. In rare circumstances, the interpretation of a reading may prove obscure or difficult. We will be open should this be the case. (Sometimes, a meaning will become clear to the Querant some time post-reading).
We will always strive to provide helpful and insightful readings. However, any decision or action that is undertaken following a Tarot reading, is yours alone. We will never tell you how to proceed, that is solely your responsibility.
A Tarot reading should never take the place of expert professional advice and we may recommend that you seek such, if appropriate.
We do not read for anybody under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs as this interferes with the readings process.
Tarot Testimonials
“I have had such an amazing experience with Arya. The Tarot readings were incredibly insightful and genuinely made me look at my decisions from a completely new perspective. Everything was explained with clarity and depth.
Arya is not only highly skilled at reading the cards, but also truly inspiring as a teacher. She encouraged me to give Tarot a go myself and took the time to help me understand how to read the cards, which was empowering and exciting.
Above all, Arya is a lovely, supportive, encouraging, and inspiring reader and teacher. You can really feel her passion and care in what she does. I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone seeking guidance, learning, or a deeper connection with Tarot.”
